We are pleased to announce that this year's guest speaker/tyer will be Al and Gretchen Beatty of Boise, Idaho. Retired telephone company executives, Al and Gretchen Beatty today enjoy running a family owned business (BT's Fly Fishing Products). Located in Boise, Idaho the two partners manufacture, distribute, operate a video production studio (fly fishing and tying, of course), write, and tie flies on a commercial basis. They also enjoy the grand kids and keeping a close eye on their three, engineer son's blossoming careers. Both have been recognized for their contribution to the Federation of Fly Fishers; Al (1999 Buz Buszek Award), Gretchen (2001 Woman of the Year), and Al (1994 Man of the Year).

A love for sharing their skills with others has opened the whole world to them. Their demonstrations and clinics, covering a variety of fly-fishing related subjects, have been presented in a variety of interesting places the world over like Europe, Scandinavia, the United Kingdom, and of course, North America. Both are regular demonstrators at the Federation of Fly Fishers Conclaves and for the International Sportsman Exposition video theater. They are sought after program speakers for clubs, councils, and national organizations. Al and Gretchen have also co-authored six books and are currently working on the seventh. The fly-fishing duo has discussed publishing a cook book so they can share their many favorite recipes.

This year's Expo will feature fly tying demos from some of the best fly tiers in Utah, casting clinics, fly tying and fly fishing workshops, activities for kids, prize raffles, exhibitors, the Wasatch fly casting competition, and more. Last year’s expo was a great success and we anticipate this year’s Expo to be just as good. Saturday evening we will conclude the Expo with a banquet and auction featuring Al and Gretchen as our keynote speakers.

Expo activities will be on Saturday from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. The banquet Saturday evening will start at 6:30 p.m.

The goals we have are threefold: 1) raise funds for future conservation projects for Utah’s streams, rivers, and lakes, 2) celebrate fly tying and fly fishing in the state of Utah, and 3) have some fun.
